Fat Tuesday!

Weather= Sunny and like 66. I have spring fever like crraazzaaayy!!!

Its Fat Tuesday ya'll. So what did that mean for me? Work of course! Oh, but on he upside I think we have found a condo... uhm, in another unit exactly where we live but this time in the towers. My heart be still Ill be getting a walk in closet again. I dont know how Ive lived in such conditions with out one but I am a survivor I tell you. What doesnt kill you only makes you stronger.

Anyway, yes, back to the fact I had to work today on the day of gluten and sin. Again.. I feel so sorry for me. Right now Im having a diet beer and writing to my people so I guess that makes it ok. I wore beads to work today to celebrate todays festivities and felt pretty good going to work. I pulled open the sunroof to benzie and sang along with Kelly Clarksons new song "Stronger" ( again thinking of my closet blessings) and pulled into work at 10 am on the dot. We have a ton of people working now because of the holiday today and the fact that we are busy these days due to spring making its approach and the snow birds are spending whats left of their winter budget now. And I dont remember if I have mentioned yet or not but the cheap menu items will be going away at the end of February. YEAH THATS RIGHT! No more .29 gumbo, no 6.99 specials, no 9.99 mahi. ITS OVER CHEAPOS!! So bring your appetite for the Triple Crab combo and 7 dollar cocktails. Im ready for summer and big money. oh yeah , im also told we run and sweat so much that we drop like 10-15 lbs.. you have no idea how exciting I find that little gem. Im working out like crazy these days and Im ready to shed this last little bit to look hot on the sand. Priorities, I have them locked down as you can tell.

Today was all hustle, bustle, and bloody marys for our guests. I love slinging pitchers and spicy drinks during the day. I hate hate hate Bloody Marys myself but love seeing people drink vegetable flavored alcohol. Why? Because you all need your veggies somehow and I commend you for taking the fun route to get them, but as I said.. Id rather have a mimosa if we are having breakfast drinks. MMMM bottomless mimosas... wait what was I saying?

Things were popping and everyone was killing it making money and running The Cage like the well oiled machine it is when suddenly someone unplugged the resturants electricity. When I say this is a big deal... I fucking mean it.  The music stops, the daquiri machine stops, the computers stop and ALLLL kitchen power stops. As in it goes pitch black. This is not good when you have a full house and assortments of fish on the grill. Luckily I had only one table who had a full pitcher and a chipper attitude and didnt even care. I go over and bat my eyelashes at them and they determine that it must be Eglin Airforce Base doing their practice bombing. I smile and agree with them because let me tell you, when that base gets going.. it sounds like rolling thunder coming across the sky the way it does in NWA during spring and summer storms. Luckily, about 10 mins later the power came back on and we continued churning out yummies left and right. Again, I have to say.. we make some crazy good food. Todays gumbo was a thick mess of shrimp, sausage, tomato, and okra.. it tasted amazing too. Baked Stuffed Flounder in a white cheese sauce.. hell yes... but since Im skinny now I only eat a cup of gumbo with no rice and one hush puppy a day. Our hush puppes are freaking awesome too, no they are not Catfish Hole quality from back home but they will do just fine.

All in all my day was pretty great and Im in a good mood. Hopefully this summer Ill get this tiny blog spot a real website constructed and I plan to start posting more pictures so you can visually appreciate my escapades in waitressing. Spring break is coming people!! Will you be sitting in my section during your holiday?
